Uterga

Uterga is a small municipality in Navarra, situated on the gently rolling plain below the Sierra del Perdón on the Camino Frances between the Alto del Perdón descent and Puente la Reina. The village has a compact stone character with traditional Navarrese farmhouses and a parish church at its centre.

The surrounding landscape is the Navarrese wine country, with vineyard plots, wheat fields, and the open rolling terrain characteristic of this transition from the Pyrenean foothills to the Rioja approach. The path here is wide and well-maintained, the gradient easy after the demanding ridge crossing above.

For pilgrims, Uterga provides basic services and views back toward the turbine-lined ridge of the Perdón.
