Sergueiros

Sergueiros is a small locality in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, in the Porto district. It occupies the transitional terrain between the forested and agricultural hillsides south of the Douro lowlands and the expanding suburban fringe of Vila Nova de Gaia.

The settlement has a dispersed layout without a prominent historic core, typical of the small localities along the outer Gaia municipality ring gradually absorbed into the wider Porto urban orbit. Stone and rendered houses mix with newer construction in the local fabric.

On the Camino Portugues, Sergueiros falls on the approach to Vila Nova de Gaia, where the route transitions from wooded southern hills into the built environment of greater Porto.
