Description
Serdio is a small locality in the municipality of Val de San Vicente, in Cantabria, situated in the valley terrain between San Vicente de la Barquera and the Nansa river. The village has a quiet pastoral character with stone farmhouses and the enclosed green landscape of the western Cantabrian interior.
The name and settlement have the modest rural character typical of this corridor, where the route passes through a series of small valley communities connecting the larger coastal towns. The surrounding hills carry mixed woodland and the green pasture typical of the humid Atlantic climate of western Cantabria.
For pilgrims, Serdio is one of several quiet waypoints in the valley section between San Vicente de la Barquera and Unquera, the last Cantabrian town before the Asturian border.
