Village in Viana do Castelo, Portugal

Description
São Pedro da Torre is a civil parish in the municipality of Valença, in the Viana do Castelo district. It occupies agricultural terrain inland from the Minho valley on the approach to Valença, in the typical granite and vine landscape of the Portuguese Minho interior.
The parish is dedicated to Saint Peter of the Tower, and its name suggests the presence of a tower or fortified structure historically associated with the site. The village has a traditional granite character, with a parish church and smallholder farmland surrounding it.
On the Camino Português, São Pedro da Torre lies close to Valença and forms part of the final inland approach to the fortified border town before pilgrims cross the Minho bridge into Tui and Spain.
