Posada de Llanera

Posada de Llanera is the administrative centre of the municipality of Llanera, in Asturias, situated in the central valley corridor between Oviedo and the coastal approach to Avilés. The town has a modern administrative and residential character as the seat of a municipality that is effectively part of the greater Oviedo metropolitan area.

Despite its urban connections, the Llanera municipality retains traditional agricultural landscapes in its territory, with the typical Asturian combination of pasture, apple orchards, and stone farmhouses with hórreo granaries. The Camino del Norte passes through the Llanera area on the route from Oviedo toward Avilés and the coastal continuation westward.
