Porto de Abaixo

Porto de Abaixo is a small locality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino Inglés route approaching Betanzos. The name means lower port, indicating a small river landing or dock on a watercourse, the de Abaixo distinguishing it from an upper counterpart.

The setting is the green enclosed valley terrain of the A Coruña interior on the approach to Betanzos, where the route passes through a succession of small communities in the Mandeo watershed.
