Pinheiro da Bemposta

Pinheiro da Bemposta is a small parish in the municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis, in the Aveiro district. Its name combines ‘pinheiro’ (pine tree) with ‘da Bemposta,’ linking it geographically to the nearby Bemposta area and acknowledging the pine woodland that historically characterized or still defines its landscape.

The parish sits on terrain that rises from the valley of the Antuã river system toward the forested hillsides approaching Oliveira de Azeméis. Stone construction is the dominant building material, with a compact village core around a parish church and agricultural land spreading outward among the trees.

The Camino Português passes through or near Pinheiro da Bemposta on the route northward toward Oliveira de Azeméis, making it one of the forested waypoints on an increasingly hilly section of the path.
