Paradavella

Paradavella is a small locality in the municipality of A Fonsagrada or the adjacent area, in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Primitivo route in the mountain interior. The name means old paradise, distinguishing it from newer settlements sharing the paradiso place name type and recording a site of exceptional rest or shelter on the pilgrim road.

The locality occupies the enclosed green hill terrain of the Lugo interior, where the route passes through a series of small valley communities on the long stage between the Asturian border mountains and the city of Lugo. The old paradise name carries the memory of the relief that shelter and level ground brought to pilgrims emerging from the sierra.
