Padornelo

Padornelo is a small locality in the municipality of Pedrafita do Cebreiro, Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Frances on the mountain ridge south of O Cebreiro. The hamlet occupies exposed ridge terrain at high altitude with open pasture and stone farmhouses typical of the Galician mountain interior.

The surrounding landscape has the Atlantic mountain quality of the Galician O Cebreiro range: lush green pasture, heather on the more exposed ground, and frequent low cloud and mist that give the ridge an ethereal atmosphere. Traditional Galician cattle graze the mountain pastures.

The route from O Cebreiro descends gradually through a series of small hamlets like Padornelo before reaching the lower terrain toward Triacastela, and the mountain ridge here provides wide views in clear weather.
