Otur

Otur is a small locality in the municipality of Valdés, in Asturias, situated on elevated terrain in the western Asturian coast hinterland between Luarca and Navia. The village has a modest rural character with stone farmhouses and the enclosed green valley landscape characteristic of this part of the humid Atlantic coast zone.

The surrounding terrain combines pasture meadows on the valley floor with chestnut and oak woodland on the steeper hillsides, typical of the mixed agricultural and forestry landscape of western Asturias. The route through Otur on the Camino del Norte connects the estuary crossings of the Navia corridor with the continuing westward coast path.
