Descripción
Nocina is a small locality in the municipality of Castro Urdiales, in Cantabria, situated on elevated terrain in the hinterland of the Cantabrian coast between Castro Urdiales and Laredo. The settlement has a dispersed rural character without significant infrastructure.
The surrounding landscape is the typical Cantabrian coast interior: green enclosed valleys, pasture, mixed oak and chestnut woodland on the steeper slopes, and the coastal clifftop visible to the north. The route through this area on the Camino del Norte moves between clifftop sections and the sheltered inland valleys that characterise this stretch of the Cantabrian coast.
