Mougás

Mougás is a small locality in the municipality of Oia, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia. It sits on the clifftop terrain of the Galician Atlantic coast between the monastery village of Oia and the town of Baiona, in one of the most remote and scenically dramatic sections of the coastal Camino Português.

The settlement is tiny and without services, set on exposed headland terrain above the ocean. The coastal path here follows the clifftop closely, with the Atlantic dropping away steeply below and panoramic views northward toward the Baiona promontory and southward toward the Minho mouth. The combination of altitude, exposure, and isolation makes this section memorable for pilgrims.
