Mindelo

Mindelo is a civil parish in the municipality of Vila do Conde, in the Porto district, situated on the Atlantic coast immediately north of Vila Chã. The village occupies the same coastal dune and sandy beach terrain that characterises this stretch of the coastline between Porto and Póvoa de Varzim.

The coastal Camino Português follows the shoreline through Mindelo, with the dune scrubland, the Atlantic breakers, and the wide beach as the dominant landscape features. The village has a modest character without prominent historic monuments, its identity defined primarily by its coastal setting.
