Descripción
Dumbría is a municipality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, situated at the head of the Xallas river valley in the interior of the Costa da Morte region. The municipality encompasses the rural plateau terrain between the central Fisterra route and the Atlantic coast, with a landscape of open moorland, eucalyptus plantation, and the occasional stone farmstead.
The municipality is notable for the Ermita de Santiaguiño do Monte, a small Romanesque chapel on a hilltop that is a recognised spiritual waypoint on the Fisterra route. The chapel’s elevated position gives wide views across the Costa da Morte interior.
Dumbría town is a minor service centre for the surrounding rural area, and the broader municipality forms the geographic context for several of the small hamlets on the final stages of the Fisterra and Muxía routes.
