Descripción
Cadavedo is a locality in the municipality of Valdés, in Asturias, situated on the clifftop coastal terrain between El Ribón and Luarca. The village is notable for its unusually high concentration of traditional hórreo granaries, making it one of the best-preserved examples of the traditional Asturian rural farmstead ensemble of stone house plus elevated hórreo on the coastal cliff zone.
The village occupies an exposed clifftop position above a rocky Atlantic cove, with wide sea views and the heath-covered headland terrain characteristic of this western Asturian coast section. The density of hórreos gives the village skyline a distinctive multiple-granary profile unusual even in rural Asturias.
