A Carreira

A Carreira is a small locality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino Inglés route. The name derives from carreira, the Galician word for a cart road or track, indicating a settlement that developed along a principal route used for wheeled transport and livestock movement in the pre-modern road network.

The surrounding terrain is the enclosed green valley landscape of the A Coruña coast hinterland, with traditional stone farmhouses, hórreos, and the mixed woodland typical of this part of the Galician interior.
