San Roque do Monte

San Roque do Monte is a hilltop hermitage chapel in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, situated on the Camino Espiritual route with panoramic views over the Ría de Arousa. The chapel is dedicated to Saint Roch, the medieval plague saint associated with pilgrimage and healing, a dedication particularly resonant on a Camino route.

The hilltop position provides wide views over the Arousa estuary, the mussel bateas, and the distant Barbanza peninsula, making it one of the more visually commanding points on the Camino Espiritual. The chapel serves as both a devotional waypoint and a natural pause on the descent toward the Arousa shore and the boat crossing.
