Oreña

Oreña is a small locality in the municipality of Alfoz de Lloredo, in Cantabria, situated on the rolling green terrain west of Santillana del Mar. The village occupies the pastoral hillside landscape typical of this stretch of the Cantabrian coast hinterland, with enclosed green meadows, mixed woodland, and traditional stone farmhouses on the valley slopes.

The area is part of the rural corridor connecting Santillana del Mar with the coastal and valley route toward Comillas and the western Cantabrian municipalities. The green pasture and dairy farming character of the surrounding land is consistent with the broader Cantabrian agricultural landscape.

The Camino del Norte passes through or near Oreña on the section continuing westward from Santillana del Mar along the inland and coastal route toward the next major stage.
