Netos

Netos is a small locality in the municipality of Ansião, in the Leiria district. The name likely derives from a personal or family name rather than a descriptive toponym. The settlement is a small dispersed community in the forested hill terrain between Ansião and the Coimbra district boundary.

The surrounding landscape is dominated by pine and eucalyptus forest on the slopes, with small agricultural clearings and the stone-walled farm lanes characteristic of this part of the Leiria interior. The terrain here is beginning to descend toward the Coimbra plain.

On the Camino Português, Netos is a rural waypoint on the section between Ansião and the first Coimbra district localities, in a part of the route that retains a quiet, enclosed forest character.
