Descripción
Muñorrodero is a small locality in the municipality of Val de San Vicente, in Cantabria, situated in the lower Nansa river valley terrain approaching Unquera and the Asturian border. The settlement has a dispersed farmstead character embedded in the green enclosed valley landscape typical of the western Cantabrian interior.
The Nansa river, one of the principal rivers of western Cantabria, drains the inland valleys of the Peñarrubia mountains and flows northward to meet the sea near Unquera. The lower valley corridor through which Muñorrodero sits is one of the quieter and more pastoral sections of the Camino del Norte in Cantabria.
The locality falls on the approach to Unquera, after which the route crosses into Asturias.
