La Reigada

La Reigada is a small locality in the municipality of Grandas de Salime, in Asturias, on the Camino Primitivo route descending from the high sierra toward the town of Grandas de Salime and the Navia river valley. The name may derive from reigada, a Galician or Asturian toponym related to a ravine, water channel, or furrow in the terrain.

The setting is the elevated mountain terrain above Grandas de Salime, where the route begins its final descent from the high western Asturian sierra before the crossing into Galicia. The surrounding landscape is the open upland heath and mountain scrub typical of this exposed section of the Primitivo.
