Cuyences

Cuyences is a small locality in the municipality of Oviedo or the adjacent Llanera area, in Asturias, situated in the hill terrain northwest of the capital on the Camino del Norte route heading toward Avilés. The settlement has a quiet agricultural character in the enclosed green valleys that characterise the Asturian interior between the Oviedo basin and the coastal approach to Avilés.

The surrounding terrain is the typical Asturian interior mosaic of pasture, mixed woodland, and stone farmhouses, with the humid Atlantic climate maintaining the lush green quality throughout the year. The route through Cuyences connects the Oviedo metropolitan area with the next coastal stage toward Avilés.
