Description
Chantada is a small locality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino Inglés route between Pontedeume and Betanzos. The name may relate to a planted or established settlement, from the Galician verb chantar, to plant. The locality has a quiet rural farmstead character in the enclosed valley terrain of the Mandeo watershed.
The surrounding landscape is the typical green A Coruña coast interior: dairy pasture, mixed oak and eucalyptus woodland, and the traditional stone farmhouses and hórreos of rural Galicia.
