Descripción
Arnuero is a municipality in Cantabria encompassing several small coastal villages in the zone between Noja and the Santander estuary. The municipality occupies the hinterland behind the Atlantic cliff and beach terrain, with a series of sheltered green valleys and traditional stone villages set back from the exposed shoreline.
The landscape combines the open Atlantic cliff environment to the north with the enclosed green valley character of the Cantabrian interior, a pattern typical of this stretch of the north coast where the coastal and inland terrains interact closely.
The Camino del Norte passes through the Arnuero municipality on the coastal section approaching Santander, threading between the clifftop paths and the valley connections.
