Description

Edit

Allendelagua is a small locality in the municipality of Castro Urdiales, in Cantabria, situated on the clifftop terrain west of the town heading toward Laredo. The name means beyond the water or on the other side of the water, suggesting a position across a stream or inlet from a reference point.

The surrounding terrain is the exposed Cantabrian clifftop: gorse and heather scrub on the headlands, green meadow in the sheltered hollows, and the Bay of Biscay dropping away to the north. The coastal path here is one of the more wild and open sections of the Cantabrian Camino del Norte.
