Descripción
Santa Eulalia de Doriga is a locality in the municipality of Salas, in Asturias, on the Camino Primitivo route approaching the Benedictine monastery of Cornellana. The village has an ancient church dedication to Saint Eulalia, a Hispano-Roman martyr particularly venerated in Asturias and Galicia, whose cult spread with early Christian communities in the Atlantic zone.
The church of Santa Eulalia de Doriga retains pre-Romanesque and Romanesque fabric, making it one of the historically significant ecclesiastical sites on the Camino Primitivo between Grado and Salas. The surrounding Narcea valley terrain is green and enclosed with typical Asturian pasture and mixed woodland.
