Pobeña

Pobeña is a small locality in the municipality of Muskiz, in the province of Bizkaia in the Basque Country, situated at the foot of the coastal cliffs at the western end of the Bizkaia coast. The village has a small fishing harbour sheltered by the rocky headland and a cluster of traditional houses close to the shore.

The surrounding clifftop terrain is characteristic of the transition between Bizkaia and Cantabria: steep coastal cliffs, gorse and heather scrub, and the Bay of Biscay on the northern horizon. The Camino del Norte route follows the clifftop above the village on the section approaching the Cantabrian border.
