Po

Po is a small locality in the municipality of Llanes, in Asturias, situated in the valley terrain west of the town on the Camino del Norte route heading toward Ribadesella. The settlement is modest with a quiet agricultural character, embedded in the characteristic green enclosed valley landscape of the eastern Asturian interior.

The surrounding terrain is the lush Atlantic valley mosaic of pasture, mixed oak and chestnut woodland, and stone farmhouses that characterises rural Asturias throughout its coastal hinterland. The humid Atlantic climate ensures the perpetually green quality of the landscape in all seasons.

For pilgrims continuing westward from Llanes, Po is one of the first passage points in the long stage toward Ribadesella, in the gentle agricultural valley terrain that makes this section of the Camino del Norte one of its more pastoral stages.
