Lendiosa

Lendiosa is a civil parish in the municipality of Mealhada, in the Aveiro district. It occupies the flat agricultural terrain of the Aveiro lowlands, in the corridor between Coimbra and the city of Aveiro. The surrounding landscape is characterised by cereal and vegetable cultivation on flat alluvial soils, with irrigation channels and occasional tree lines breaking the open horizon.

The village has a modest residential and agricultural character without prominent historic monuments. Its position on the Camino Português places it in the long flat walking section between the Coimbra metropolitan area and Mealhada.

For pilgrims, this section of the route is characterised by its flat, open quality, offering wide skies and long views across the Aveiro plain after the forested hillsides of the Leiria and Coimbra interior.
