Description
Correlha is a parish in the municipality of Ponte de Lima, in the Viana do Castelo district. It occupies elevated terrain on the southern margins of the Lima river valley, where the hillsides carry vine cultivation and the valley floor opens into the wide alluvial plain associated with the Lima.
The village has a traditional granite construction character, with terraced fields and vine plots stepping down toward the valley. Views from the upper parts of the parish extend across the Lima valley toward the town of Ponte de Lima and the forested hills on the opposite bank.
On the Camino Português, Correlha is one of the final hilltop stages before the route descends to the Lima crossing, offering an elevated perspective over one of the route’s most celebrated sections.
