Arzacq-Arraziguet

Arzacq-Arraziguet is a commune in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department, situated at the northern edge of the Beam region on the Via Podiensis route between the Landes and Arthez-de-Beam. The town is a bastide foundation with a central market square and a weekly market tradition.

The Beam is a historic Gascon region with its own dialect, traditional architecture, and cultural identity, and Arzacq marks the entry into this distinct territory. The surrounding countryside begins to take on the greener, more enclosed character of the Atlantic Pyrenees foothills.
