Vilaoril

Vilaoril is a small locality in western Asturias, in the valley terrain of the Navia municipality or the adjacent area. The settlement has the dispersed farmstead character typical of rural western Asturias, with stone houses and hórreo granaries distributed across the green enclosed valley slopes.

The humid Atlantic climate maintains the intensely green quality of the surrounding pasture and woodland throughout the year. For pilgrims on the Camino del Norte, Vilaoril falls on the inland route connecting the Navia estuary area with the continuation westward toward El Franco and the Galician border approach.
