Description

Edit

Sardiñeiro is a small coastal locality in the municipality of Fisterra, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia. Its name derives from sardiña, the Galician word for sardine, reflecting the sardine fishing tradition that once sustained this small coastal community. The village has a traditional fishing character with a small harbour and the simple stone architecture typical of Galician fishing settlements.

The surrounding coastline is the outer Atlantic shore approaching Cape Fisterra, with granite rocks, sandy coves, and the open ocean. The village is one of the last inhabited points before the route reaches the cape itself, making it a natural final rest before the end of the pilgrimage.
