Renche

Renche is a small locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the San Xil southern route variant of the Camino Frances between Triacastela and Sarria. The hamlet occupies the enclosed mountain valley terrain typical of the Lugo interior, with oak woodland and pasture on the surrounding slopes.

The Southern route via San Xil is less frequented than the Samos route and provides a quieter, more rural experience through the Galician mountain interior. The hamlets on this route, including Renche, have a dispersed farmstead character with traditional stone buildings and hórreo granaries.

For pilgrims, the San Xil route via Renche offers a more intimate Galician landscape encounter before the routes converge at Sarria.
