Reboreda

Reboreda is a civil parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira or the adjacent Valença area, in the Viana do Castelo district. It occupies hillside terrain on the approach to Valença, in the final rural section of the Portuguese Minho before the border crossing.

The surrounding landscape has the granite and vine character of the lower Minho, with smallholder plots, boundary walls, and mixed cultivation on gently sloping terrain. The proximity to Valença means the fortified town becomes visible on its hilltop ahead, and the landscape begins to open slightly as the valley widens toward the Minho crossing.

On the Camino Português, Reboreda is one of the last rural waypoints before pilgrims reach Valença, and the view of the fortress ahead gives the final approach a sense of arrival.
