Descripción
Ponte Olveira is a small locality in the municipality of Dumbría, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia. The name means bridge of Olveira, referring to the stone bridge over the Xallas river (also called the Ézaro in its lower reaches) at this point. The bridge and the river crossing are the defining features of the locality, which lies just downstream from the village of Olveiroa.
The Camino de Fisterra and Muxía routes converge here at the river crossing before the village of Olveiroa, making Ponte Olveira an important junction for pilgrims choosing between the two final destinations. The Xallas valley is one of the more scenic river corridors on the Fisterra route.
