Ponte Campaña

Ponte Campaña is a locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Frances just west of Palas de Rei at the crossing of the Pambre river. The stone bridge here marks one of the last crossings in Lugo province before the route enters A Coruña.

The surrounding terrain transitions from the open rolling plateau of the Lugo interior to the more enclosed valley character of the A Coruña river corridors. The Pambre river is a tributary of the Ulla system, and its valley provides a sheltered wooded corridor as the route descends from the plateau.

For pilgrims, Ponte Campaña marks a geographic transition point on the stages between Palas de Rei and Melide.
