Descripción
Pintín is a small locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Frances on the approach to Sarria. The hamlet has a compact stone character in the enclosed valley terrain typical of the Lugo mountain interior approaching the town.
The surrounding landscape is the lush, enclosed Galician valley with oak and chestnut woodland on the slopes and the damp Atlantic moisture giving the vegetation its characteristic density. The path here follows the valley corridor through a series of small stone farmstead clusters before reaching the Sarria urban area.
For pilgrims, Pintín is a quiet passage point on the final approach stages to Sarria, the enclosed green quality of the terrain providing a pleasant contrast with the open Meseta stages far behind.
