O Pacio

O Pacio is a small locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino route in the central Lugo interior. The name derives from pazo, the Galician term for a noble manor house or stone-built estate, indicating that the settlement developed in association with a noble residence of significance in the local rural economy.

Pazo estates are characteristic features of the Galician rural landscape, with their stone coats of arms, garden enclosures, and chapel annexes distinguishing them from ordinary farmhouses. The surrounding terrain is the typical enclosed green valley landscape of the Lugo interior.
