Gondar

Gondar is a small locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Primitivo route approaching Lugo city. The name is a common Galician toponym of uncertain pre-Roman or medieval origin. The locality sits in the valley terrain west of Castroverde on the approach to the provincial capital.

The surrounding landscape is the green enclosed valley and hill terrain of the Lugo interior, with dairy pasture, mixed woodland, and traditional farmsteads. As the route approaches Lugo, the terrain begins to show the first signs of suburban fringe, but retains its rural character through the Gondar area.
