Baxoia

Baxoia is a small locality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino Inglés route approaching the Tambre river crossing at Sigüeiro. The name may relate to baixo, meaning low or lower, indicating a settlement in the lower valley terrain near the Tambre.

The setting is the green enclosed valley of the Tambre river corridor, where the route descends from the Ordes plateau toward the river crossing. The Tambre valley has a more sheltered and enclosed character than the open plateau above, with riverside woodland and the characteristic lush green quality of the Galician river corridors.
