Description
Irago de Abaixo is a small locality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino route in the final approach to Melide. The name combines irago, possibly a topographic descriptor, with de Abaixo, indicating the lower of two settlements. The locality is in the green valley terrain approaching the convergence of the Camino del Norte and Camino Francés at Melide.
The setting is the gentle pastoral landscape of the final western Galician corridor, where dairy pasture, apple trees, and traditional farmsteads frame the last stages before the two major Camino routes unite at Melide.
