Beschreibung
Hospital de La Paradiella is the ruin of a medieval pilgrim hospital on the Camino Primitivo in the municipality of Allande, in Asturias, situated on the high mountain terrain between the Tineo corridor and Pola de Allande. The hospital was one of a network of medieval hospitaller establishments that provided shelter, food, and care to pilgrims crossing the demanding western Asturian mountains.
Several such hospitals are documented along the Camino Primitivo mountain stage, most now reduced to ruins, which collectively map the medieval infrastructure that sustained pilgrimage on this ancient route. The ruins of La Paradiella are visible in the open mountain terrain, a reminder of the organized support system that once made crossing this high sierra more survivable.
