Fragamoreira

Fragamoreira is a small locality in the municipality of Pontevedra, Galicia, situated on the riverside path of the Camino Espiritual following the Lérez river north of the city. The name combines fraga, the Galician word for a dense humid woodland or thicket, with moreira, possibly indicating mulberry trees or a personal toponym.

The surrounding terrain is the riverbank fraga woodland typical of Galician river corridors: alder, oak, and willow on the damp margins, with the enclosed humid atmosphere of a narrow valley. The route here follows the river closely, with the water and its woodland corridor providing a quiet, sheltered quality distinct from the open plateau terrain on other Camino stages.
