As Mariñas

As Mariñas is a small locality in the municipality of Oia, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, situated on the clifftop coastal terrain between Mougás and Baiona. The name refers to the coastal maritime terrain and the marine vegetation that characterises this exposed Atlantic headland.

The settlement is modest and without significant infrastructure, set in the open heath and bracken of the Galician clifftop. The surrounding landscape is wild and exposed, with the Atlantic visible on all sides and the path running along the cliff edge through low coastal scrub. Ferns, heather, and gorse are the dominant vegetation of this exposed terrain.
