Arthez-de-Béarn

Arthez-de-Beam is a commune in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department, situated on the Beam ridge at the high point of the panoramic section of the Via Podiensis between Arzacq and Orthez. The village commands exceptional views over the Pyrenees to the south and the green Beam valleys below.

The Romanesque church of Saint-Blaise sits at the edge of the village with the mountain panorama as its backdrop. The descent from Arthez toward the Gave de Pau crossing involves a significant change of terrain, from open ridge to the enclosed river valley.
