Xubia

Xubia is a locality in the municipality of Narón, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, situated at the mouth of the Xubia river where it meets the inner Ría de Ferrol. The area retains the ruins of a historic iron mill that operated on the river, one of the industrial heritage sites of the Ferrol estuary zone.

The monastery of San Martiño de Xubia, a Benedictine foundation with medieval origins, occupies elevated terrain above the river mouth and retains early architectural fabric. The Xubia river crossing and the monastery approach make this a point of both historical and landscape interest on the Camino Inglés.
