Sobralinho

Sobralinho is a civil parish in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, in the Lisbon district, situated in the flat Tagus valley between Alverca do Ribatejo and Alhandra. The terrain here is the characteristic alluvial plain of the Ribatejo: broad, flat, and intensively cultivated, with the Tagus running in wide bends nearby.

The locality has a modest residential and agricultural character without notable historic monuments. Its significance on the Camino Português is primarily as a waypoint in the long flat walking section north of Lisbon, where the route follows the river corridor through the Ribatejo plain before the terrain begins to rise toward the interior.

The openness of the landscape and the proximity to the Tagus give this section of the route a distinctive spacious quality.
