Sigüeiro

Sigüeiro is a town in the municipality of Oroso, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, situated on the Tambre river approximately twenty kilometres from Santiago de Compostela. The town grew around its bridge crossing of the Tambre and has a commercial character typical of a service centre on a main road approaching the capital.

The Tambre river here has been crossed by pilgrims on the Camino Inglés for centuries, and Sigüeiro is traditionally the last full-service stop before the final stage into Santiago. The town provides accommodation, cafés, and the standard pilgrim infrastructure for the penultimate overnight of the Camino Inglés.

Beyond Sigüeiro, the route follows the valley and the Sarela tributary before entering Santiago de Compostela.
