Marsolan

Marsolan is a small commune in the Gers department, situated on elevated terrain between Lectoure and La Romieu on the Via Podiensis. The village has a modest stone character with a simple parish church and the open agricultural landscape of the Gascony hills surrounding it.

The Gers at this point is rolling and fertile, with sunflower crops, maize fields, and old farmhouses creating the warm agricultural patchwork characteristic of inland Gascony. The route from Marsolan descends into the La Romieu corridor, where the collegiate church appears ahead on the horizon.
